Last night was the inaugral concert of Voices Entwined. I wont lie. I have been involved in lots of concerts and shows over the years but have never planned one before. However i was concious of the fact that as three choirs we needed a point to aim towards and we learn so many songs its nice to sing them for people. This is the end of the summer term and we are looking at a long summer break so it was a nice way to end the term.
It was fantastic! We strolled, wandered, jumped and ran between various countries singing a massively varied reportoire. Everybody was an absolute star. Some of the songs as one audience member commented were "heavenly".
There were a few lost places and dodgy notes but every song was a triumph! It was excellent. The songs were sung with passion and life was sung into each and everyone. It was spectacular fun. I think the fun which to me is the most important thing came across and we even got asked for an encore!
Thank you to every choir member who came! It was a joy to do it and without you all I would look really silly. Thank you for all singing so very well.
Thank you to the audience who were very supportive - even when I lost my IPAD and forgot to ask the choir to stand amongst other infractions.
We raised a grand total of £187! I am so pleased and so are the charity. Thank you all once again.
I would like to make it an annual event. :)
